Food blogger traveling across the country, spends day in Black Hills

Rapid Town, S.D. (KOTA) – A foods blogger and rideshare driver from Baltimore, Maryland is traveling to all 50 states to understand about the distinctive foodstuff and cultures each individual point out has to provide. Friday, he’s in the Black Hills.

Kreskin Torres started doing work as an Uber driver about 6 decades ago, and grew to become fascinated with tales from across the place that he would hear from people today he picked up from the airport. He knew, then that he wished to dive into the various cuisines and methods of existence, and document his travels.

”You know, there’s a complete earth out there, and to a large amount of men and women it can appear international mainly because they just don’t know about it,” Torres mentioned. “So, I just wanted to see what it was like for myself, and food items has been a fantastic way to hook up with so lots of distinct individuals. I usually say that food stuff is a typical floor.”

So far, Torres has visited Mt. Rushmore, and indulged in some of the food stuff vans at Major Road Sq..

Friday, he’s viewing the Pine Ridge Reservation, to study much more about frybread, buffalo pot roast, and other indigenous foodstuff.

He provides that Black Hills inhabitants have been extremely welcoming for the duration of his halt.

”The locals have been truly open up. Commonly I would sign up for a Facebook team just so folks can give me suggestions. But there have been so a lot of welcoming folks. I’m right here for the Native cuisine. Simply because I want people to know, and a great deal of people could not know about it or been exposed to it.”

South Dakota is the final condition on Torres’ journey. He suggests he’s starting off an app that showcases meals from all around the region.
